My hiking journal for 2016

JUNE 30th. 2016Eight weeks before I head off for hikes in Sweden and Turkey. In Sweden I will be spending two weeks hiking part of the Kings Trail (Kungsleden) with my old friend Colin. In Turkey I will be solo hiking parts of tha Carian Trail.  Travel arrangements are made, gear lists prepared, and my man cave floor is covered with gear.

New gear this year includes a MLD tarp-poncho. Here being tested in my back yard.

 Today I went to MEC to use some gift cards I have been given. I ended up with: a bulk buy of Cliff bars, my favorite trail snack; a small thermos which I might use in Sweden; Nuum electrolyte tablets, lemonade flavoured, for Turkey; and finally a pair of Keen hiking sandals which I might use in Turkey, depending on how I find them over the next weeks.
